Session 12: "INITIATION

RECORDED JULY 18TH, 1979 @ B. GREGORY'S IN FAIRBORN, OHIO

In this session, the experimenter or seeker experiences a personalized version of the general process referred to in the literature as "the initiation", whereby the seeker experiences astral travel and receives, from a highly developed entity, some indications, statements, or symbols, etc. implying that the seeker is being admitted to a special group. The guide provided an objective running critique, analysis, and suggestion to keep the seeker oriented, encouraged, and protected, while also ensuring that the session was properly recorded.

Particular attention should be given to the action of melding both states of consciousness together, the normal verbal patter between the experimenter and the guide and the "altered" state of perception of the other planes.

The first part describes an experience that is not totally understood, but may be related to the business of plumbing the depths of the Psyche or an intrusion. It is included to illustrate what might be encountered by other seekers.

The transcript follows, picking up after the usual induction period.

DAYSHA: You are going to your workshop or laboratory, in your conscious state that you are now in. You are going to your workshop or laboratory instantly. You will first take your shower and prepare yourself for working in your workshop. Where are you now?

RICH: I am trying to decide about the robes.

DAYSHA: The robes?

RICH: Well, you said to pick a robe -- I never picked a robe before....

DAYSHA: Whatever attire that you are normally used to wearing there is fine. Whatever you think you would be comfortable in.

RICH: ...I should have a robe.

DAYSHA: I think that would be nice. What kind of robe would you like to have?

RICH: Oh, a light yellow, sort of goldish.

DAYSHA: Okay...Have you showered yet?

RICH: Uh-huh.

DAYSHA: Now, describe what you are doing from now on. Let me know what you are doing, clearly and audibly.

RICH: Okay, I'm just floating over to my seat... I'm sitting down..., lounging, actually. All set.

DAYSHA: Is your screen activated yet, or are you working without a screen tonight?

RICH: It's up and ready to use if we need it.

DAYSHA: Now, call to your Masters and Teachers and Guides that work with you, or those who might be willing to work with us tonight and know that we are going to be working tonight and need their help and request their help if they would be willing to give it to us. Call them in now and invite them to sit around and join you.

RICH: I get a "YES, WHOMEVER IS NEEDED WILL COME WHEN THEY ARE WANTED"

DAYSHA: Has anyone arrived yet?

RICH: Not yet... I get a funny image of a jellyfish, one of the kind with a fin on top. I don't know how that got in there.

DAYSHA: It wanted to see your workshop... Maybe you should have a fish aquarium in your workshop.

RICH: Um-hmm... Okay, I'll put a pool over there and throw it in the pool... I got to get down to business with the table. There is something about the table. It's sort of elliptical, all polished, dark around the edges... I think I have to get up and make myself available or something... Seems like they are waiting for me to make the first move and I'm not sure what I am supposed to do... There's some flashes of fuchsia pink blobs over to the right.

DAYSHA: Then ask them in and ask them to get comfortable.

RICH: ...It's like they are almost full of fuchsia pink blobs... I guess that's an emotional message of good feeling.

DAYSHA: Are they of God? Are they God Beings?

RICH: Yes, that's sort of a love message.

DAYSHA: Good...

What is happening now?

RICH: Oh, I had a bit of a flash over to the left. Looked like a piece of a ship, because it was very heavy cast iron with lots of coats of white paint on it and then some kind of polished, well, not polished---but machined parts. And then they start swaying a little, sort of a nautical kind of a feeling, a hammock or something.... My body's sort of getting loose.

DAYSHA: What is the symbolism or the purpose of that ship type of thing appearing?

RICH: I think they are hinting for a ... loosening, and ah... maybe a launching. Maybe I'm supposed to try to do a little "out-of-body" or something... I see a cave, a rounded thing, entrance to a cave going away at a sort of an angle.

DAYSHA: Remember that, whatever happens, you are totally protected and safe from all harm from any entities or beings whatsoever. Be sure that you have your purple and white light strapped around you and always feel the golden light overhead.

RICH: I'm sinking down towards my inner Self more.

DAYSHA: Very good.

RICH: It's always dark when I do this... very dark. I don't get bothered by it now. It's just sort of a collapsing into my Self.

DAYSHA: There is nothing to fear. Is there anybody there yet at this time that is ready and willing to answer questions? Or to give any teachings?

RICH: I get an impression of a vague, blurred red and yellow robe to my left. I don't know if that's a person or not. Sort of gaudy red and yellow.

DAYSHA: Are you sure that it's somebody that you want to be there?

RICH: No, I'm not sure.

DAYSHA: Charge him, that if he be of God, to come on in... that if he be not of God and of good being and of good nature, that he must leave at once.

DAYSHA: Yeah, I sort of moved away from that, and sort of drifted back into the sinking down in. There is a couple of bright flashes of light... a very quick light, like photo strobes. Sort of to the top of my field of vision and then, sort of a flash picture of ah... like ground or rock... There's sort of a fishy feel to everything tonight, you know, like the jellyfish and, I think, the cave entrance looked like it was sort of underwater, too.

DAYSHA: Does this symbolize the inner Self or the...?

RICH: I'm not sure yet.

DAYSHA: ...the emotional part of your being?

RICH: I don't know if this is supposed to be a sort of natal thing for a ... symbolic,... or if I'm going on some kind of a diving trip or whatever... Now, this seems to be a ...a kind of an object there... flat on the bottom... can't tell the side, it's a.. a distinguishing feature is like it's like a cake in that it's stepped... except that it's dark metal and it has facets. It's sort of ahead of me a little bit to the left and it's sort of sitting there, I don't know what for.

DAYSHA: Is there anybody there with you who can explain it to you and tell you what it is and what it's for?

RICH: No, and now, one side of it seems to be sort of ... disappeared and, looking inside, is a flat plate near a reflecting something. I don't know what the light is that it's reflecting... I don't see any light around, but it's reflecting some light from somewhere.

DAYSHA: Are you on land someplace or underwater?

RICH: It seems more underwater, except it's so clear and I don't have any smell of being underwater. It's sort of floating and sort of clear, but it seems underwater-ocean kind of stuff.

DAYSHA: Is it part of or is it something that is usually above water in any form of civilization?

RICH: I cannot tell yet... I get impressions of a... rough coral, tan or old gold color,... sort of amber.

DAYSHA: What is it that is made of amber?

RICH: The corals, covering something... like a reef, except it's sort of flat as if it were man-made something or other that is sort of covered with all this... coral...

DAYSHA: Is there a special purpose for you in being here?

RICH: ...Now it turned to red, like dark cherries kind of red..

I don't know what the purpose is. I guess there's a purpose... It sort of looks like, you know, if you looked at a ship from upside down from a quarter view, except, it seems to be broken in half.

I get sort of a hunch or an urge to try to contact an OverSelf. It doesn't come through in the words, it's just a feeling that I ought to.

DAYSHA: You can very easily, at this stage, contact and become the OverSelf. If You and the OverSelf are One, you can pick up and receive...

RICH: ...I have to go very deep to do that...

DAYSHA: As you are floating under water, you are in the depths, the very, very, deepest depths there are. As you float underwater, you feel yourself going even deeper and deeper... deeper into yourSelf... you feel yourself going deeper and deeper... very, very comfortable and at ease... as you feel yourself going extremely deep... going deeper with every breath... very, very, deep within yourself until you feel yourself become one with the OverSelf, or you feel yourself become the OverSelf and the OverSelf becomes you. You are One, as you go deeper and deeper into this state of consciousness of the OverSelf... as you go deeper and deeper, you feel more and more relaxed and going deeper and deeper, deeper and deeper... when you feel yourself go so deep that you become One with the consciousness of the OverSelf, you will let me know. Feel yourself sinking very, very deep, totally comfortable and totally calm and peaceful.

RICH: I get an image of a mahogany table top with an ash tray and somebody's got a cigar that they're putting in the ash tray.

DAYSHA: Where is this now?

RICH: I don't know, it just came to mind.

Now I am back to the reef. I might have been somewhere on the ship, if there is a ship somewhere around this location, like a diving ship.

DAYSHA: How about projecting yourself back to your workshop again, where you are calm and comfortable in your lounging chair?

RICH: Okay, I'll pull out of all that scene.

There was one little dark wooden shed kind of an affair that seemed to be interesting... I don't know what's underneath it, though... sort of like one of those sheds they have for pigs, you know, or a doghouse or something.

DAYSHA: And where is this?

RICH: It was in that scene... It sort of came open, but there was something with a lot of teeth in it.

I think I'll just go back to the workshop.

DAYSHA: I think that's a good idea.

RICH: Before there was a... I think there's somebody standing there and... boy, he's got this long robe on... (he or she or whatever)... with um metallic streaks, vertically. I remember that other time I said, ah, there was a big stone step... well, it seems to be Ïä1ÏthatÏä1Ï kind of robe again... very dark, almost black.

DAYSHA: Is it somebody that has come to work with us, and is waiting for you, to come in and...

RICH: I think he is some kind of an usher or something, because, remember, before, he didn't do anything, except to lead me up to the top of the steps to that Thing.

DAYSHA: Ask him if he would please usher the Guides and Helpers in, that you need to ask some questions, that you would like the most learned and wise Beings that could possibly come now to help you.

Has Ben appeared yet?

RICH: No.

DAYSHA: See if Ben will come tonight and be with you.

RICH: I get the impression that some people are sitting around in the conversation pit around the table, but, this other fellow, the tall, skinny One in the black robe, is still the center of attraction, kind of thing.

DAYSHA: What is he doing to be the center of attraction?

RICH: He's waiting for me to follow him somewhere. He just stands there waiting for me to say... I'm supposed to know something and I don't know what it is I'm supposed to know or say.

DAYSHA: Are you able to walk by him?

RICH: There is a word that goes... like a sign sticking out (of his robe), sort of to his left, and it just says "DEATH" and I get the impression that he's got like a skull-face. Now, am I supposed to go find out about death or something?

DAYSHA: I think maybe you should ask him to be kind enough to wait outside the workshop, the laboratory. That, if he's not there in the name of God, that he must leave.

RICH: I think I'm going to have to put a crucifix or something up in there. I don't know where these people come from. Or maybe that's ah..., one of the lessons.

DAYSHA: What type of lesson...?

RICH: " YOU MUST LEARN OF DEATH IN ORDER TO KNOW LIFE "

is the sign... the words that usually came before.

" BECAUSE DEATH IS A FORM OF LIFE "

And the skull- skeleton- Halloween kind of a figure dropped off and, in its place, in the same place, is sort of an iridescent, rainbow, glowing kind of a figure.

DAYSHA: And what is that One's message, or lesson?

RICH: It just says, " SEE? "

DAYSHA: Says what?

RICH: See.

DAYSHA: See?

RICH: " DEATH IS A FORM OF LIFE "

And the figure transfigures and I've got this iridescent, glowing kind of, rosy-pinkish and cheerful, round face that is sort of, sort of femalish. Sort of like a nun I know. I'm supposed to know that it's a spiritual kind of thing. Now it's sort of a May Dance kind of a thing. It's trying to say that it's a happy kind of thing. It's okay. Yeah, I believe all that. And then the (May Dance) circle becomes a... a crown... a large crown, just to symbolize something... a royal crown that stays there now, it's sort of steady.

DAYSHA: What is the purpose of the crown?

DAYSHA: They put it on my head.

DAYSHA: And what is the symbology of that?

RICH: Oh, it's a...

" YOU ARE A KING OF LIFE AND DEATH NOTHING CAN BLOCK YOUR PATH YOU ARE FREE TO MOVE FREELY IN BOTH PLANES WITHOUT FEAR OF GETTING LOCKED IN TO THEM "

Gee whiz, this looks like a scepter. It's a long rod with a - polished knob on the top, and a - it's sort of a reddish polished thing, with gold filagree chasing... it's sort of like a flat-sided, like a pencil and one of the flat sides facing me has this gold tracery.

DAYSHA: Says what?

RICH: This long scepter or walking stick kind of a thing... it's got the gold knob on the top and it has..., I guess it's octagonal cross-section and the flat side facing me has gold-like filigree tracings all up and down it.

DAYSHA: What is the significance of this? What is it for and what do...?

RICH: It's sort of holding there, I guess I'm supposed to... take it... I don't know, how do you grab it?...

Oh, my goodness - I grabbed it and ah, just sort of, banged it on the ground and, when I did that, it took off like a rocket !

DAYSHA: You took off like a rocket?!

RICH: Yeah!... Let's go back and do sort of an instant replay of this... What do you do with this fool thing!? I guess this is the thing that ah,... if I take this and like, ah, strike the ground with it, then I can take off to other levels. It's almost like you can ride it like a broomstick.

DAYSHA: It's like magical transportation?

RICH: I think the whole exercise is trying to get me to - to move into another realm that I'm very reluctant to go into, but, what the heck have I got to lose?...

We're up above clouds now. They're all settled down into a bowl sort of ah, at the far end, an effect like rising or sinking some. Puffy clouds all around.

DAYSHA: Are you just soaring through the outer space, or are you any in any place in specific?

RICH: It's sort of confused, like a shifting or something or other, 'cause that cloudy bowl kind of a thing is sort of drifting away and - there was a little bit of a star field up there and it looked like there was a - and there was sort of a flat building or ranch style building or something like that, sort of tilted. I guess I'm supposed to go there.

A very stretched out kind of an affair, you know, like a couple of hundred feet wide or long. Sort of a ruddy, reddish-brown kind of effect to it, like rich Earth tones.

But there was something back there in like would have been the courtyard. I'm gonna go back and look, there's something in there... it's like a pond or a pool or something. I'm supposed to do something there.

DAYSHA: Describe in detail, as much as possible, what it is you are seeing.

 

RICH: It's about a ten foot diameter, ah, pool, with a foot-and-a-half high edge or rim or wall around it... and there seems - I can't see it quite clearly yet, 'cause I'm not back there yet - ... as I went by , there was something like, sparkling off of something in there... a reflection off of... Hmmm, I mean you'd expect something pretty like a fountain, but it looks like, there's just pebbles in the bottom and ah, some kind of seal or fish laying in there. I don't even know if it's alive. You know, just like if you were at the zoo and there was this seal, I guess, dark brown, something like that, curled up around against the wall and then sort of... Now it's filling with water. It's not one of these clear pictures where everything is sort of steady; it's, uh, sort of disjointed - that's why it's hard to get things properly in focus here. I was expecting the thing to, you know, get up and flap its flippers or something, but now that's being more dominated by a blob of orange coming in from the left.

DAYSHA: Where is this place?

RICH: I don't know. It's another realm somewhere.

DAYSHA: In the state of consciousness you are in now, you can tell or determine or find out somehow what realm or universe or star or planet or system you are in.

RICH: All the Earth tone turned to a blue over black kind of a thing, like a sunset or something. Like it's night time.- yeah. Can't figure this thing out, it's just like that orange thing, well, it was sort of like a meteorite. It just sort of went into the ground in front of this building. It just very slowly sank through into the ground and... the pond has now got one of those well things over it, you know, you get the winch and the bucket and what-not and the little roof-like affair on the top.

DAYSHA: Are there any structures around there, any type of building structures?

RICH: Yeah. The building is still there. Like I said...

DAYSHA: What is the building like?

RICH: It's low level, modern. It's just like you were looking at, say, a school. One of these modern elementary schools, a single floor kind of thing,

DAYSHA: Are there any terraces or columns or anything like that around or is it just-

RICH: No, there is this pool and then this modern-looking school building.

DAYSHA: Why don't you go in and see if you can find anybody in there in any of the rooms? Describe what you see inside.

RICH: Okay. I mean you'd think they would provide a Guide for this.

DAYSHA: Maybe there is one inside the door, waiting for you to come in so he can begin.

RICH: Oh, yeah, there he is... he's nice, he's got a long white beard and all that, red skullcap ... well, maroon...

DAYSHA: Is he waiting for you inside?

RICH: He's smiling and... well, I have to go inside now... and he's walking away with his hand pointing that way, like,

" COME ON IN. WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU. YOU TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET HERE. YOU NEED MORE PRACTICE IN DOING THIS. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU HERE. THERE AREN'T ENOUGH DOWN THERE WHO ARE WILLING TO COME UP HERE. IT TAKES A LOT OF TIME, I KNOW. "

DAYSHA: Tell them, Daysha would, if someone would help her get there.

RICH: " DAYSHA'S GOT A LOT OF WORK DOWN THERE TO DO PRETTY SOON. "

DAYSHA: Is he going to give us a lecture or give you a lecture tonight? Or is he, or are they going to answer questions?

RICH: " A GIFT A GIFT A GIFT A GIFT "

A white box all wrapped up in a ribbon... imagery, symbolic.

So now he wants to take me in this... We're still going down a hall... made a turn... going the other way now... big tile floors... Now we're at a set of big doors. We're sort of pausing here, he's waiting for something or other. He's sort of standing there, sort of, just waiting... sort of fidgeting, as if, something isn't quite right, has to happen yet...

I don't know what this means... We open the doors and... it's like way up at the ceiling there's this - well, you know, these pictures of steel mills where they... pour out the steel, this is like it's ... pouring out light bubbles.

DAYSHA: Light bubbles?

RICH: Uh-huh, and he says " GO IN AND WASH YOURSELF. "

and I'm standing in the shower there, of light bubbles... kind of like a baptism.

DAYSHA: Like a baptism?

RICH: Uh-huh. It's supposed to mean something...pure... and as I'm standing there bathing. There's the imagery of the death figure and the metamorphosis into the spirit comes again and it's like, as I stand under there, _I_ was wearing the black robe, and it fell off, and now _I_ am the iridescent thing.

It felt funny all over.

DAYSHA: What kind of a feeling?

RICH: A filling up with light.

DAYSHA: Are you still bathing in the light bubbles?

RICH: Uh-huh.

DAYSHA: What was the gift or the significance of the gift that you were handed or given a little while ago?

RICH: " ETERNAL LIFE IN THE SPIRIT "

They turn around and look at him and he says

" NOW YOU ARE ONE OF US FOREVER. "

And I move out from under the shower, and he hands me a white robe or something, with something on the chest, but I can't see what it is. It's sort of purplish and ... green leafy kind of a thing... a symbol or something. It's like it was a purple cross with a, a vine entwined around it. I get a symbolic feeling like crusader... you know, the old Crusaders. And there's some flash of red in there, sort of

" I CHARGE YOU TO DO SOMETHING "

DAYSHA: What are you being charged to do, now that you have become one of them? What will your duties be now, when you come back when you return to your physical body and to Earth again?

RICH: " WHATEVER YOU FIND TO DO, DO IT WELL IN LIFE AND IN DEATH OR IN SPIRIT "

I got this impression of just sort of taking off like a plane into the air and doing a couple of maneuvers or something, sort of a happy feeling. I'm not sure where I am now. I seem to be over the house... going up or it's sinking down. I'm a couple of thousand feet above it.

DAYSHA: There was no lecture given to you at that place then, after you bathed in the light?

RICH: No.

DAYSHA: Is there someone travelling with you at this time?

RICH: There is something white over my right shoulder. It's a bright sort of thing... Oh, golly, if that's it is, it's somebody who's about fifty times bigger than me... Sort of carrying me up like I'm a little toy doll or something... I'm watching from a couple of hundred feet behind... and then there was a very vaguely defined sort of a clod (in His hand) and then a bowl with what looked like a lot of people in it and the Light Being set me on the edge of it and then I seemed to go back into that little body and be that person. It's sort of like zinging back and forth as if they were saying,

" YOU ARE BACK IN THE WORLD TO DO SOME WORK YOU'LL DO BETTER NOW THAT YOU ARE ONE OF US "

DAYSHA: Who is us... ?

RICH: " IT DOESN'T MATTER 'WHAT' IT IS "

DAYSHA: Is there any specific duty or job or mission that you are to undertake or be doing at this time on Earth?

RICH: " EVERYTHING. WE ARE ALL BROTHERS NOW. "

"Brothers" seems to sort of stay there, as if it's important.

DAYSHA: Have they brought you back to Earth again now?

RICH: No, I'm still there. "Brothers" is fading now and... just a sort of a... transition kind of thing, nothing in particular, blank.

DAYSHA: They're gone now?

RICH: Now you should wake up.

DAYSHA: Okay, are you back on Earth now and back in the body?

RICH: Yeah.

DAYSHA: Are you back in the workshop?

RICH: No...

DAYSHA: Is there any specific or particular moral or lesson that we are to get out of this tonight, for either one of us?

RICH: There's a very beautiful, golden white flower there, that just keeps opening and opening. It's got lots and lots of petals and it just opens and you can see the, you know, the little things that open up in the center, except it's like a fountain...

DAYSHA: A fountain?

DAYSHA: Well, you know the way those things stand up in the center, except they're sort of alive and glittery.

DAYSHA: What is the symbology of that, or the meaning of it?

RICH: " YOU ARE OPENING UP NOW "

The flower came over and is superimposed with my head.

DAYSHA: Are you ready to come back to consciousness now and to be awakened?

DAYSHA: Umm, there's something else coming here... There is like a glass body, well, you know,one of those filmy... laying down, floating up from the flower. Now it takes a sort of an athletic stance, moves around, as if, uh, as if it's supposed to do something, and then goes against this "blob" over at the side and sort of pushes and pushes and pushes on it. And then, ah, it's like a wall between this glass spirit-filmy creature and this white blob and he's pushing against this wall and pushes it all down, and then stands on top of it. I guess that's symbology for going spiritual and overcoming something.

DAYSHA: Overcoming barriers?

RICH: No, once I get the lid on the thing and lock it up, it just sort of stays down there. There is a victory kind of a thing about it. I guess it was putting the devil back into hell or something like that.

DAYSHA: It was what?

DAYSHA: Some kind of symbology...

Transition point, now it's blank.

DAYSHA: Is there any more that should be coming out before you are brought back to waking consciousness by Daysha?

RICH: It says,

"TWO MORE THINGS "

At least, there's a " T ", like TWO. I guess it's for a TWO... No, they corrected it,

" IT'S THREE "

" YOU NEED TO DO MORE PRAYING "

That was the first one, I need to do more praying.

" DAYSHA IS TO LOVE HER WORK INSTEAD OF HER... "

I can't make out the last one... it seems silly...BED? That couldn't be right... it isn't that clear.

" DAYSHA NEEDS TO LOVE HER WORK MORE INSTEAD OF STAYING BEHIND AND BEING LED "

Yeah...okay...three,

" ALL OF US ARE PULLING FOR BOTH OF YOU. GOODNIGHT "

DAYSHA: Give them our devout thanks and appreciation for their help and guidance tonight and wish them "Goodnight"...

RICH: ...Oh, that's pretty...

DAYSHA: ... and may we be privileged to be in their company again another time...

RICH: ...they shot off fireworks.

DAYSHA: How nice, I wish I'd seen them.

Exduction procedure then concluded the experiment, followed by the usual critique.

We decided that the fish in the pool was an yin-yang symbol of life and death.
